E EJC+1 250+ Posts Feb 16, 2008 #1 We have noticed that none of our air intake vents in our new house that we built have air filters. There is obvious a main filter in the furnace that we change every 3 months Do we need to put smaller filters in the intake vents?

F Friday 500+ Posts Feb 16, 2008 #2 No. If there is a filter in the unit, do not put filters at the grill. You can do one or the other, but not both. It will restrict air flow and most likely shut off your entire system.
