NOW they are claiming 3 Football National Championships! They had ONE in the Big 12... they have 3 in the S-E-C. I guess Aggy now subscribes to the Alabama ability to count NC's!!!

They did not mention that they are the third most cheating program in NCAA history nor that they had at one time (maybe still unless Notre Dame took it) the longest streak of bowl losses in NCAA history. Two things they are consistent in and they make no mention of them. tsk-tsk

They also don't mention that UT has something like 50 bowl appearances, 32 Conference titles and more football championships than all their sports combined. We have what, 49 since 1949? Why don't they mention that?

Make fun of 'em all you want, but I've read a hell of a lot more about them than us this off season.

This morning Brent Zwenerman (sp?) has a big article on the front sports page of the San Antonio Agpress-News. That's happened alot this summer. It's like the Express-News is trying to boost their sagging fortunes by appealing to ags.

Also, I drove over to the park for a jog and there was Kevin Sumlin on the radio talking to two sports jocks about the upcoming season.

And let's be honest, the SEC is way more appealing than the Big XII as it stands now. We need Florida St, Clemson, and/or Notre Dame.

Actually the best thing that can happen is for mizzu or aggy to win their division this year. The Big XII could then say SEC tough - don't think so both were irrelevant during their time in the Big XII.

Clean, you may want to get out of the bubble and listen to or know what is talked about nationally. What a couple of homers in SA say means jack. They don't get national pub, they don't get national attention and it is becoming quite the trend to give the 12 respect as a tougher league through and through. The nod still rightfully goes to the SEC but talking heads make mention that we are right there with them and the addition of TCU and WVU made the 12 stronger.

So you are implying that once again they will have to rely on prolific cheating to have success? I agree that's about what it will take and it's what they rely on but I don't know that Sumlin is that kind of guy. Maybe the next coach will be aggy worthy.

I'm just saying they're trending up right now. Their base is energized by the move to the SEC.

They have a charismatic, fairly young, black coach, who is going to draw a lot of top recruits. They're in the best conference in the country, one with NATIONAL appeal and they'll probably be on TV as much or more than us thanks to the beloved LHN.

I think we stepped on our own dong when 1) we decided to save the B12 in order to start the LHN and 2) we refused to play them anymore. At least if we whipped them every year, recruits would have a yardstick to compare the two programs.

I'm sorry to say it, but Aggy has a very realistic shot at winning 7 games this season. 4 OOC weak-sisters, Ole Miss, MSU and Mizzou and certainly possibilities. FLA sucks but not as bad as Aggy so I am assuming a Gator win and the Piggies, new HC or not, scandal or not, has a lot more weapons than Aggy can bottle up.

What is going to be real interesting to see is the score differential between the wins and the losses. LSU, Bama and probably Auburn are going to school nut squeezers something ugly.

..so they apparently are only a third dilusional.

That website, listed above, that lists NCs identifies itself this way:

NCAA.com is part of Turner Sports Digital, part of the Turner Sports & Entertainment Digital Network.

In other words, I don't think it is an official NCAA site, but instead is something Turner slapped together.

At lunch today, I was driving on Loop 410, in San Antonio, just past Bandera Road and there it was........ a giant aggy billboard. This one had the normal ATM and SEC logos and then said "NEW TURF".

That's it. New Turf. It's official. I wonder if all this is predicated on DeLoss' remark about atm having a sliver of Texas or however he phrased it?
