Aggy: In Search of....

...their own brand. That is why they are leaving, plain and simple.

Texas built a tremendous brand over the last decade and were rewarded with a 300 million dollar contract. Just as Notre Dame built a huge brand and were awarded with the NBC deal.

It is absolutely nuts for anyone to think we should share that reward. If someone else wants a piece of that action, then they need to invest in us in order to get it. We bought it, built it and we earned it, of course, now aggy wants it. Well, pony up then.

So, aggy is off to the SEC in hopes of building their own brand. Well, they are not going to get any help from Texas.

Deloss knows full well that the SEC will provide some nice opponents, so that conference will help them. But, why should Texas be added to their schedule to only increase their brand. Aggy does nothing for the Texas brand. Most casual college football fans outside the state of Texas and SW region are not even sure who Texas A&M is. But, Texas does loads for the aggy brand. So, Deloss sends his apologies, but he ain't gonna help aggy improve their brand.

Aggy, just so you know, Texas built its tremendous brand without your help really. So, lets see if you can do it without our help.

And if you do, are you willing to share that with us? Didn't think so.

Now you understand.

Run along now and try not to embarrass the State of Texas.

Oh, one last question. Are you fellas going to run around Louisianna, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennesse and Florida singing about the University of Texas and doing your school hand signal, the down Horns?

If so, you won't be understood there either. They will all see your incredible envy for Texas every where your team shows up.

My Dad was an aggie & I have always pulled for them vs ou & most others. Not anymore.
Don't ever play them again, ever. And I have no problem telling them we're just flippin you off like you flipped everybody off when you left the Big 12.

HOOK 'EM,

I agree that marketing is playing a big role in this. But aggy is selling Nehi Grape Soda to the Pepsi Generation. A major overhaul of the culture will have to take place. The have to to get rid of the Corp on game day. You can't have a bunch of fake army boys squezzin their nuts every week on tv and hope to be taken seriously.

I think they would rather remove their right arm than remove any tradition, regardless of how out of date it is.

Either way, I am glad they have moved on. The game will resume after a number of years in a limited fashion.

Now, lets wait and see what Deloss has been holding back until aggy was cleared out of the way. It may take a couple of months or so for him to come out with it, but ESPN didn't spend 300 mil if they were not aware of something else being prepared. Deloss has been ridding himself of all his antagonists before sharing the true vision.

If Aggy could, they have an opportunity to revamp some of their traditions. Get rid of all that is UT related (they have made a start here), get some girls in their cheerleader group and make the corps of cadets less central to their self image. I'm not saying it is possible, just saying that's what they should do.
