Aggy Game #3

Pimp Daddy
Peters looking good so far.
No score in the bottom of the third.
As usual need some bats to come alive.

been a disappointing weekend, hope Horns can at least oull one out of this.

Texas gets two runners on a HBP and a walk.
Silver and Felts both K and still no score.

Peters threw great allowed one hit in 4 innings.
But Knebel in to start the 5th, thought Peters
might get one more inning, but he has never
thrown this much before.

Knebel gets nailed right in the stomach with a line
drive, he gets the out, but it has to be hurting him.

Then gives up a bloop double, a walk and another
bloop single that scores a run and Aggy leads
yet again 1-0. A 6-4-3 gets him out of the inning
and to the bottom of the 5th it's 1-0 Aggy.

Down in order again in the 6th and still trail
1-0.

When we stop hitting we really stop hitting!

We doubled out hit outtake with another single
and that's it.

Knebel gets out a mini jam and it's still 1-0 in the
bottom of the 8th.

We still trail 1-0 and it's looks like 100-0 right now
the way are hitting or not hitting is a better choice
of words.

Payton walks with two outs, pitching change.
Their lefty gets Marlow to fly out to left.

Aggy by the same 1-0 score after 8 complete.

Knebel gets out of another jam with another 6-4-3
double play.

Bottom of the ninth now still trailing 1-0.
If you would like to show a little spark, the time
has come Horns.

Well, looks like the 'Horns found a little spark. Bases loaded, no outs in the bottom of the 9th. They better not blow this chance.

Top of 9th: Horns have runners at 1st and 2nd, no outs....two singles.
Silver: Sac bunt, runners move to 2nd and 3rd 1 out
Felts: Base hit, 1st and 3rd Game Tied 1-1
Etier: aggies have infield in... ground ball to first, play at home, Walsh safe at home....Horns WIN 2-1 in bottom of 9th!

Aggy is still Aggy in the end.
Weis singles and then Walsh singles.
Silver bunts them up and Felts with
the infield single scores Weis.
Etier hits a slow chopper to first and the
throw is up the third base line slightly and
Walsh slides around the tag to win it for
the Horns 2-1!

Nice win after being basically dead all day.
We win the last game between us and Aggy
as it should be.

I'm losing track...which sports this year do we now have final scoreboard against the Aggies? Football, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, women's golf, men's and women's swimming, men's tennis, men's and women's cross country, volleyball... Wow!

At least the 'Horns managed to win the last regular season matchup. It's a moral victory since the good guys did not take the series, but it's a victory nonetheless.

What a perfect ending to the series. Just like in Football, we pull one out with a walk off unexpected victory. I am so glad I had the opportunity to take my son this this game to observe a very memorable game

It just keeps getting better re the poor aggies and their pouty, spoil sport exit to the SEC.

It's as though the gods were giving them yet another message about their place in the Texas universe.

I don't normally save UT tickets; but I'm keeping this one.

I had to download that shi$$y Aggie Radio app, then link it to blue tooth, to hear the audio just in time for the bottom of the 9th...Aggie Tears.

Just back from Disch-Falk. We played like Texas baseball today, good fundamentals throughout. Still could have lost, but we somehow pulled it out at the very end, reminiscent of the football win, wasn't it?
Walked over to the softball game, and we were up 3-1 in the fifth when I left.
That win leaves us with good feelings for the last big men's sport competition, plus we won the insurance trophy, plus won football, men's and women's basketball twice.
Now they're gone, and I already...don't miss them.

Softball won 4-3, was kind of interesting in LHN
announcing booth with Cat Osterman and former
Aggy Amanda Scarborough doing the game.

She wouldn't wear the burnt orange LHN shirt,
but wore a black one with the Longhorn logo on
it.

Wonder what Aggy thinks of their former Aggy
star player working for LHN?

At least some Aggies know it is better to join a
network instead of leaving the conference
over it.

Scarborough is a terrible color commentator. She also tweeted to me there is "plenty of time left in the season" even though UT has played 47 of 52 regular-season games. Aggy logic.

What a fitting end to our rivalry with A&M: a walk off play at the plate and the Aggie catcher drops the ball. So similar to Justin Tucker’s field goal that crushed them in College Station. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory yet again. As they say, "It's tough being an Aggie fan....in any sport....but for every 20 choke jobs, there is one unexpected victory, so all is not lost."

I had come to somewhat respect them academically, athletically, and even some of their odd traditions, but their “I’m going to take my ball and go home” stunt in leaving our conference soured me on them, probably forever. I don’t know if this will heal with time.

I didn’t watch this year’s football game with my Aggie father, because things could have been said that couldn’t be unsaid. I didn’t watch this baseball series with him for the same reason. Thanksgiving will be a lot easier on him and me in the future. For his sake I’m struggling to wish the Aggies well, but it just feels more like the old country song: Thank God and Greyhound you're gone.
