"I saw people talking about his watermelon quote and asking what we should do about it. So we decided to take his joke and yell it right back at him," Shepperd said. "We were tossing around ideas and hoping that we can create an opportunity to show Barnes just how loud we can be, despite the fact that we started planning things out two days before the game."

Coordinators plan to execute the yell when the game is ending, if A&M is confident in securing a win. If the condition is set, fans are expected to pass back the "horns down" sign prior to the yell.

Fans are hesitant to perform the yell because of the possibility of creating a tradition. However, the yell is intended only for the Wednesday game.

Actually, I'm not surprised that the Aggie fans want to throw this back in Barnes' face. As I understand it, the comment was pretty much directed at them. So, I don't think it is out of line to play it back. It's not really a personal attack on an individual player or coach. So, I say it's fair game. And, actually pretty funny.

Probably won't happen, but wouldn't it be great if we jump out to a lead that we never relinquish? So, they never get the opportunity to use the cheer.
 
When someone here posted this dude's post on Texags knocking Vince for returning to get his degree, I pretty much started discounting everything he has to say. The only time Aggy players return to College Station after leaving is for court hearings. Can you help me with this?

It us abominable to me that they don't understand the potential downside to this, and NOBODY will get what they are doing if they pull it off.

The best that they can hope for here is another "WTF" moment from the rest of the country.

The worst that can happen here is to severely hurt their recruiting on national television and add ammo to all of the negative recruiting that is surely being done against them due to their "rep".

This pretty much went exactly how it should, Barnes got his shot in and called "Sit Down Bus Driver" and other yells junior high last year when he was irritated at the local idiots who constantly need vinidcation from the opposing coach about the atmosphere in the arena. A&M fans remembered and got a chance to turn it around on him using the example he gave, and Barnes remembered and took it in good fun and complimented our fans. All in all a good thing for Texas vs A&M. Its good to string together events surrounding games over multiple seasons for a rivalry.
