so sad. bright young man with a huge future, both academic and athletic.

i'm not a parent, but i'd imagine that this is the absolute 100% worst thing imaginable. i cant imagine their pain.l

I am a parent, Joe, and you are right. Nothing could approach the loss of a child. May God Bless the family and give them strength to deal with their loss.

lordy, i'm sorry to hear that. i feel so for those feeling the loss and am so thankful our two are hale and hearty yet.

i did lose a cousin when he was 19. our family was a different family after that.

article from andy katz

he was coming home from a post-prom celebration at dave & busters. apparently the accident happened immediately after he got off the phone with his dad indicating that he had just dropped off his last friend, and was headed home.

wow. just wow.

sad news. i live in Bellaire. needless to say, the news spread fast. thoughts and prayers with his family.

My prayers go out to this young man's family and friends. As a dad of a teenager who will be driving soon, this is your worse nightmare. God bless them.

Terrible news. As the father of 2 young drivers it scares the living hell out of me.

So sad. My heart goes out to his family, friends and the entire Aggie nation. Horrible, this is. Rivalry aside this trumps all.

Hated to read the news about this in the morning paper. Prom night is a dangerous time. We witnessed a fatal accident (the wreckage) in Houston after my high school girlfriend's prom, one of her classmates. Awful memory.
Prayers to the family of the young man, who sounded like a good student and basketball player with such a bright future.

awful, i could not comprehend the loss either. As a parent, it would be hard to imagine ever pulling oneself from the depths of the dispair they must feeling.

My prayers and thoughts to all.

The other victim in the crash was a mother of two heading to her nursing job at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Evidently, alcohol was not a factor, but being that the accident occured at 6 a.m., there is some speculation that he fell asleep. Very sad news all around since it looks like some very good families are devestated. I'm talking about real families, not "basketball families."

The thread title is misleading. He was not killed, as in someone took his life. He died due to an accident, likely his fault. Another person also died as a result of his accident. It is still tragic, but he was not "killed".

You've never heard the expression, "he was killed in a car accident?" I thought it was rather common usage. I don't think the usage places blame.
