After the Maryland loss last year

I said the team seemed improved from Herman’s first year in every position group though the team lost the first game like the previous year. My view was not universally accepted at the time. However it proved correct by end of last season.

The team this year is better than last year, save the corners who are inexperienced. I leave it up to the armchair coaches whether the coaches made mistakes.

I thought the offense was forcing it too much in first half. They scored 31 points in the 2nd half after they relaxed.

Unfortunately teams on the rise (like Clemson a few years ago) seem to have to lose games like tonight before they learn how to win them. There are no short cuts. Don’t forget the incredible talent we have coming in the next two years. The average star rating will be higher than the last 2 great classes. We are a team on the rise and the jokes about Charlie and Mack’s bad teams will be old news.

THought the OLine was outstanding and Johnson running and pass blocking were really solid. Not sure he should ever go back to QB. Sam is still not as consistent as we'd like but dang. Threw for 400 against the real DBU. We need next years RBs here now. Everything is still out if front of us. Big deal is to beat OSU for the 1st time in forever. Then go into OU 3-1 and kick the crap out of them. I think this game even with a loss helps prepare us for OSU and OU. After that rest of season gets easier.

Our running game, especially with Ingram in the game, is a joke. Inexcusable. I doubt there is another D1 major program with only one true RB on the sidelines. I understand injuries, but come on...we are Texas.

If he chooses to stay at RB I think he has a future. He was very effective.

You know the beauty of message boards? I don’t have to listen to what you have to say and even though you may not think so, the point is quite relevant in response to the post. To say we are better in every area is a stretch.
