which shows how much BI repects your opinion.
I laughed when I saw this thread.
I think it is only to prove Bi's " libertarian" chops

The writer blames:
1) Bush
2) Huge cultural differences.

So the fact that Obama increased our mission there but ignored the troop levels requested by the general on the ground deserves none of the blame for our predicament.
Typical.

I think the editorial nailed it for Afghanistan. It's kinda funny that we can't agree on the relatively unimportant issue over who is to blame -- like is there anyone save Ron Paul in the Washington DC power structure who is not at fault? As far as what to do next, there seems to be a concensus. Wouldn't we all at this point be willing to get the hell out of there and let Afghans decide for themselves whether they want to trade in their corrupt, barbaric kleptocracy for a less corrupt but more barbaric theocracy?

I read the editorial and disagree; Afghanistan is not medieval. It is tribal. They may reach a state of medievalism in a few centuries but such a description at this point is premature.

Our government probably equates them to the Apaches and Comanches, whom we had a great measure of success with after fighting with them for forty years but there were not near so many of them and they weren't as well armed.
