I am seriously considering switching from Elecrical Engineering to Petroleum Engineering (for reasons I will list later) Are there any Petrol. Engineers here that can give advice? Any comment would be appreciated

You will have a much more marketable degree with EE. You really limit yourself to where you can practice your degree with Petroleum. Nothing wrong with it, but I would go EE if I were you.

Well do you really like Petroleum??? If so, go for it, but I don't think too many people like Petro, just fall into it or can't cut it in some of the others. No disrespect meant to those who chose it. What is marketable is a big part of your after school life. With a EE degree it seems that you can do a lot more things than with just about any other engineering degree. If I had it to do over I would have gone MIS or EE

I have many engineering friends and some have made the switch to PE. None of them have regretted it. It's a much smaller program, and they are very personable. They pretty much make your schedule for you, and registering is never a problem. They have to do it that way, because the profs will teach one class in the fall and another in the spring so if you miss it, your grad schedule gets ******.

Gabe Mouneke (sp?) is a PE grad.....

If you want to work in the Oil and gas industry, I guess it could be a choice. Although, you could probably get work in that industry with an EE degree no problem.

Do you hate EE?

SullHorn,
Stick it out. I don't know what year you are, but I just graduated EE and it does end up coming together around your junior year or so. You get to take the classes you want and all that foundation of knowledge actually gets used. You really are limiting your job opportunities by doing petroleum.

my advice is to switch to a fashion design major with lots of creative juices flowing you will become a super fashion star
