Advice for found dog

I'm in san antonio until tomorrow and found a pretty chocolate lab near my parent's neighborhood. They said she'd been roaming around the neighborhood for almost a month. I'm going to guess she's around 8-10 years old. She was dehydrated and full of fleas. I've since then given her food, water, and a bath. She's limping but doing a lot better. My parents can't take her because of their own dogs and I have to go back to Austin tomorrow morning so I'm thinking about taking her back with me although my place doesn't allow me to have pets. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I've looked at ads for lost pets and can't find anything on her.

Take her to a vet that can scan her for a chip. If she doesn't have one, and you can't keep her (which is sad because it sounds like you might have already started to become attached) you might try getting on the net and finding a lab rescue group.

Or your landlord might let you keep her if you agree to pay something extra on your rent.

She sounds like a great dog. Poor thing.

well i've been trying to call the shelter and no answer of course. i've looked into a couple of rescue groups as well but they're full. she has what look like a couple of tumors and i'm sure other medical issues that i honestly can't afford to give her so i'm probably going to give her the town lake animal shelter

Did you get the dog scanned yet to see if it has an AVID chip? If it does the owner will be found promplty. If the dog got sick and the owner just abandoned it, throw a coke in their face for starters.

I sure hope some of the comments on this thread is meant as humor. If so it is sick humor. SHEESH.

I'd say about 1.5 hours per pound...only use pecan...
