Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Problem

One of the guys I work with uses photoshop to print pictures from a digital camera. It's worked fine for months. Today he tried to do it like he always does and he's having a problem. Whenever you go to file, automated and picture package in order to print a layout of pics there's a problem when they're printed. The pictures print, but a tan layer is layed over the images and margins. It covers the entire printable area on the page, but it does not blot out the pics themselves, it just makes them look like crap and have a tan border. There is no other layer because I've checked and the background color is set to white. The printer works fine on anything else, even if I just go in to photoshop and open a picture and print it. It's got to be a problem somewhere in picture package, but I can't find it. I haven't been able to find something on the internet either.

What do the pictures look like when you print them from something besides Photoshop (ie. IE, Paintshop) or from another computer? I'd try to figure out if something on the camera/memory card isn't working right.

The look fine. They even turn out fine in photoshop if I just open one and print it, instead of using picture package.

That's strange. Have you tried to check and clear out the Print Queue? I know that sometimes when I've tried to print out a number of pictures where there are jobs "leftover" in the queue, I'll get similar translucent "bars" on the printout. You might be able to solve it by clearing out the queue, or if you're using a print server, rebooting it.

Have you tried replacing the tan paper in the paper hopper with white paper?

If that doesn't work....I'm gonna need some pliers and, ahhh, a set of 30-weight ball bearings.

That is strange indeed. longhornjoe03 has some good suggestions. Have you tried it with pics other than those downloaded from a camera, like web images?

Yes, I've printed web pages and other stuff and they all look fine. I've tried restarting the computer and shutting off the printer and still no luck.

How bizarre, the same exact thing happened to me last week. I like using the picture package thing, but I just printed one straight from the file instead and it came out fine. I figured I'd just start manually doing the package by copying multiples into illustrator so I can put better titles and graphics on them anyway.
