I am taking my legal secretary and my paralegal to lunch today to celebrate Administrative Professional's Day. Should I take them to Luby's or to James' Coney Island?

Our staff-wide e-mail about it called it "Administrative Processionals Day". Still haven't seen any secretaries marching through the halls though.

Our admin day is a complete screw up. Probably because the admins haven't been asked to plan it. I brought in bagels, but it has occurred to me on the secretary knows where we keep the serrated knife (to slice em) and the other items to spread the cream cheese. Screw it. I'm out. They can eat whole bagels without any spread. Without plates.

I told my boss it was APDay on wednesday (early morning, on a post it- nice and subtle)....

all she did was give the lady a pat on the back, no freakin flowers or anything.

i think that's pretty bush league imo. It's almost like women treat their secretaries "worse" when it comes to things like this.

well, we generally call secretaries 'administrative assistants' so I don't have a huge problem with the name change, because the job is essentially the same.

Also, what the hell is wrong with Luby's? I love Luby's.

We got "tokens" on our desks almost everyday and a breakfast on Wed. which most of the department was traveling for. I liked last year when they took us to PF Changs. Cheap ********!
