Adelson's Pro-Romney Donations Will Be 'Limitless'

Of course Obama had a 2-1 financial advantage over John McCain during the 2008 election cycle (remember George Soros) and none of the crowd that is now constantly whining about the Citizen's United decision raised the tiniest peep of an objection about that. In any case, it does not appear that Obama will have a 2-1 advantage over Romney this time around. Or even any advantage to speak of, for that matter.Looks like Obama is going to have to win with either the power of his message or the power of his personality - if he can.

Wow! I guess he and Soros will be in a sort of financial arm wrestling match. How cool would it be if the voting populace was so intelligent that such spending would not make a difference?

It kept the Gingrich campaign afloat for a couple of months longer than it otherwise would have been. But Adelson was pretty much Gingrich's only source of funds. That is not even close to being the case with Romney.

Michtex, you mad, Bro?

How did all the Soros cash work out for Kerry?

Hey if they want to throw it away, let them. It's good for the television and radio businesses I guess.

Don't forget the unions
SEIU alone spent 140 million and then Pres Andy Stern bragged about it

Too bad Walker took away some of the wisc union revenue but I am sure Trumpka will find more.

Since a lot of the casino tycooon's money comes from overseas, John McCain sees it a big issue that foreign money will influence elections. He was on NPR tonight. He said it's a shame none of the Supreme Court Justices had ever run for sheriff -- then they would understand the imact of money on campaigns.

Hearing the interview, hearing his underlying confidence and pragmatism, his toughness and impatience -- I had a pang of regret that he's not sitting in the oval office. McCain isn't perfect, but he's a leader and a damn good man.

Thanks, Shiner, for a sparkling glimpse of idealism. Good work. I didn't know you had it in you.

Croc:

Funny that I really wanted McCain in 2008, then watching him in his senate race and his actions the past 4 years, he is no my cup of tea. He would have been better then Obama but he is not my favorite candidate.

It is so funny listening to you people still bash Palin when she is infinitely more qualified then Obama to be POTUS!!!!

You guys give someone credit for being intelligent just because they buy the right wing agenda, ******** and all. Truth about Palin is she was governor of a state with about the same number of people as Denton County, was less than honest, and whenever the campaign allowed her unscripted moments she showed herself a total doofus. This was a woman conducting state business with a yahoo email account thinking it would get her around open records laws -- and amazed that the account was easy to hack.

The hatred for Sarah Palin is based primarily on the fact that she is:

1) A Republican Woman
2) The first to point out what a "community organizer" really is.

Pretty much how I feel about Barry. I don't hate the guy. I just don't thing he has the knowledge or skill to do one of the hardest jobs around. After 3.5 years I think that point is painfully obvious. I understand the knock on Sarah Palin, but I just think anyone that claims to have voted for Barry because Sarah was not ready for the job are just kidding themselves.

No doubt she had some gaffes.
But i am not sure she is dumb so much as she was ignorant of things people running for a national office should know.

She appears to have made an effort to learn and if you have seen her being interviewed lately she handles herself fine.
She isn't running for any office and i am always amused to see the emotion she still incites.

Let's see Obama wasn't even the governor of a county say the size of Parker County. He had as many gaffes if not more than Palin, how many states are there?

Give me a break, Obama is not better then Palin by any standards.

Because you hate someone does not make them unqualified in comparison to the current office holder.

Palin could not have done any worse than what Obama has done.

Could you image the uproar if Sarah Palin told every leader of a small country that they "Punch above their weight." You would have non-stop ridicule from the MSM news, Jon Stewart, and their ilk. As it is, you gave to go to foreign media to see Obama's idiocy.

Interesting turn of events

It will be interesting to see how Obama supporters will try to weasel out of this "inconvenient" truth. It was Obama who reneged on his promise to accept a publicly financed campaign in 2008 if his opponent did the same.

Is there anything under the new Super PAC rules that would prevent a foreign government or corporation from throwing hundreds of millions of dollars behind their favored (U.S.) candidate?
