ACL Fest Tickets = ridiculous

Just checked on craigslist right now, and tickets prices are insane. People are asking $300 for a 3-day pass, and $150 for a saturday. Last year I paid $150 for a 3-day. Are people actually paying this much? Anyone think the prices will be lower as we get closer?
To me the lineup seems a little top heavy, and I'm not really a fan of Pearl Jam or DMB, plus Beastie Boys canceled.

So the other question: If I want to see Decemberist, would it be better to wait or ACLFest tickets to drop, or just go see them in Houston on friday night.

I got $250 for my 3-Day on craigslist which was obviously too low as I had a dozen wanting to purchase 10 mins after I posted.

Normally I would agree that they will go down, but PJ and DMB fans are fanatical and driving the prices. I'd like to find a Fri only pass to see Avett Bros and KOL.

Well, ACL fest raises face value of their tickets every year, and they still sell out, so I wouldn't be surprised if face value is $300 per in a few years.

And it's not all that hard to get close to a stage, as long as it's not one of the two main stages.

The prices are getting ridiculous. It's definitely not a family outing. How much does ACL make in consessions??? water alone is $3.00. They gotta be making a killing selling water.

You are allowed to bring in a empty water bottle and fill it up at water stations. And if you bike in, it's fairly easy to go to some of the fast food places near lamar and B.Springs to get a cheap bite.

Go up to Zilker on Friday - I guarantee you that you'll get a 3 day pass for under face.

What he said. You also get daily passes even cheaper than that of a 3 day pass savings. I had a friend get one for free while I had to pay 35 bucks. I had no change, only a 20 and two 10s so I told the guy I would buy him a beer inside or buy something to get change. I got held up in the security line and he just waved me off and made the okay sign, walked away.

The only problem with the 1 day passes is that you can't leave and come back.

Where is the best place to buy single day passes if you want to wait for the day of the event?

Based on CL, the prices are holding pretty steady at $200 for a wristband and 100 for a single day.
