And by the way, the very best crawfish I have ever made was in California of all places. The crawfish out of the Sacramento/Stockton delta area are different looking and considerably larger. They are quite expensive, too.

quality seafood is not so good (at least the last time I bought from them)
I've also bought from the boiling pot (good prices btw -- they get theirs from the same supplier as austin)

I don't like Quality Seafood. The people at Austin Seafood are easy to deal with. They are going to order lobsters for us for a lobster boil.
 
Soak for 20 minutes afterwards, no seasoning of the shells will be needed. For the ice thing, my uncle always throws in frozen corn for the soaking process to bring the temperature down and let help them soak in the seasoning, so it sounds like the same thing and it works great. You might try that since you won't be deluting your seasoning in the water.
