Am i missing something or is ABC basically the only channel that does not have an HD channel?

I have Charter hd digital cable in fort worth. I find it hard to believe that abc which OWNS ESPN does not have their own HD channel. whats the deal? i watch the rockets game in crappy regular broadcast and then switch to espnhd for hd highlights, wtf?

sounds like your cable company is screwing you. ABC has had HD for as long as the rest of the networks - I want to say NBC was the slowest in getting theirs turned over.

If I am not mistaken, it has nothing to do with the actual Networks (ABC, NBC, etc.). It has to do with your local affiliates. In most major cities, all or most of the local affiliates are broadcasting the HD signal in addition to the regular one. However, if you're local affiliate isn't sending out the signal, then obviously you aren't receiving it. In other words, ABC has been in HD forever, hence the "In HD Where Available" spots at the beginning of certain programs. But it sounds like your local Ft. Worth ABC affiliate is not sending out an HD signal. Either they aren't yet capable or they don't yet have an agreement with your cable provider.

thanks dr fear, i was not aware of that. i will be calling charter and voicing my complaint.

that is pretty gay though

I've noticed that a number of times my cable company - which has all the HD network channels - will simply run the non HD feed. I assume it's a technical issue but it's still annoying.

Cable sucks.
