ABC/ESPN Finals Audio

Why is it that every time someone makes a free throw the audio turns way down?

Then it slowly turns back up.

Its quite annoying, why cant it just stay one volume?

Ive noticed this on ESPN's broadcast and ABC's, which essentially is the same thing I guess.

good post. I've read hoops boards all over the country and it's not just your local station. Very disappointing indeed for such an important sporting event. ABC generally sucks. Damn I wish for the days of CBS nba (predating the NBC days). CBS had a better picture but in the days of HD I guess this is not relevant.

The audio on the Time Warner in Austin was repeatedly dropping out, especially toward the end of the game. Don't know if it was ABC, or a local problem.

I think they do it on purpose and turn on the mic near the basket, so you can hear the bricks.
