A word about coffee roasting products

I ordered a coffee roaster from Sweet Maria's. When it arrived, it did not work. None of the below appears to be the fault of Sweet Maria's--except their recommendations for this company's product.

After much effort, I was able to contact the manufacturer. They said they would replace the "power base." When it came in the mail, it was the "power base" for some sort of cheesy Chinese mini-blender.

I again contacted their customer service and they said they would send the top to the blender as well as the roaster "power base." They had incredible difficulty even getting the address right.

When the package arrived today, it contained the cheesy blender top and an obsolete roaster "power base."

I have just about lost any interest I had in roasting coffee beans. I cannot believe this incompetence. I left a fairly ugly voice mail for their customer service.

Sorry to hear you're having so many difficulties. You should definitely make sure that Tom or Maria at Sweet Maria's hears about all the problems. My experience after doing business with them for years is that they really do a very good job and would want to know about the poor service you've received from a company they recommend.

I started with a $5 air popper from a resale shop and it did a terrific job. Someone told me this week that my home roast coffee is the only coffee they drink without adding sugar, so don't give up. The wait to get started roasting will be rewarded.

^^^ I should have seen that coming.
