This has haunted me for the past 15 years or so, and a big reason my lust for college football dwindled. Seeing stars of the past, just regular dudes that show courage on the field , are reduced to a mere shell of themselves later in life

A terrible way to go. I met Jim Hudson in the late 90s, seemed a healthy happy man. To read of his later years is sad. Same for Earl. Bigger than life, we are the same age. To see him like he was several years ago was really sad.
