This is the first step to getting America back on track. The biggest con of all time will be Obama convincing the American people that the greatest country in the world was broken. Is America perfect no. But it didn't need Obama being divisive and trying to changing us into a European country. The GOP needs to get us back to Pre- Obama and tweak what was started in 2006. The days of the 2006 to 2010 congress (the worst in history) are long gone.

I am going to miss West Mall even more over the next two years as they expose Democrats on key issues such as energy, healthcare and the IRS scandal.

More I'm listening to details this morning... I see Harry Reid as the most destructive element on Capital Hill during Obama's terms. Was just said that three years ago a compromise bill was "this close" to being worked through, with House Speaker on board, a measure that was good for the country (this coming from Robert Gibbs, on Morning Joe/MSNBC who was explaining this) and Reid killed it. One of many things Reid killed. The guy pushing the legislation was a direct aid to Obama.

If I was Obama, I'd view Harry Reid as the most damaging element to my entire Presidency. There may have been room for compromise but not with Harry Reid. Republican leadership in numbers is not nearly as important as the removal of Harry Reid from Majority Leader.

For the sake of comedy gold, I hope this board continues, and I hope that Roger35 still shows his stupid *** on a regular basis.

Watching him and Satchel get their skulls kicked in over and over and over is something I'll miss.

I'd comment about last night's results, but I think I'm drunk on liberal tears right now.

our point about our country as it was before BO not being perfect is spot on. There was much that needed fixing and there still is.
It sickened me that BO chose to fundamentally transform much of what was good.
did we need health care reform? yes but not what he and pelsoi and reid shoved down our throats>
Do we need immigration reform? yes but not as much as we just need to follow the existing laws. Increasing the numbers allowed in legally is an easy thing to do.

I think the Repubs will understand this is not a clear mandate to do stupid stuff. Most know they were voted in and can be voted out.

The big question is how will BO react? will he let his ego keep him from recognizing what the people said with their vote?
Even Clinton understood and look at the lege that got passed in his last 2 years.

If Obama is smart and can put His Majesty Kingship pride in his back pocket, he'll stay out of the way of the Legislative Branch and allow things to get done. Then take credit for it. That way he saves himself the last two years and goes out with a good legacy.

How about the Red Tide in Texas. How long will it take Abbott and Patrick to make good on their mandate to have a completely secure border with Mexico? Can't wait.

Crockett, all they can do is try. That's much more than the federal gov is willing to do.

Check out the difference in Bill Clinton's speech after losing the majority vs BHO. Bill Clinton took responsibility for the loss because he said he is the Prez and directly said that. BHO blames the 2/3 of the country that didn't vote last night. BHO, it couldn't be your policies or how you use the paper of the constitution as toilet paper could it? This is why he is not respected.

Add.... the Republicans got a lot of good candidates to run for office. Possibly the Democratic Party and it's followers did not expect the Republicans to field such. During the gov't shutdown the Republican Party was viewed as failed and falling and self-destructing. But appears the party got busy and ran candidates that either party or independent could find favor with. Quite the reverse of what was expected. Says a lot about Republicans. Now, please field really good candidates for the run to 2016 Presidency.

Greg Abbott campaign commercial “Barack Obama won’t secure the border, but Greg Abbott will.”. Direct quote from the governor-elect: “Together we can secure our border, keeping Texas safe from drug cartels and gangs that importing crime to our state. (…) “I will never stop fighting.”
Dan Patrick on border Security:
“National security begins with border security and that begins with the Texas Rangers and National Guard,” Patrick said. . Patrick closes by repeating his pledge that if elected, he will make border security “my top priority.”
