A few things I would change regarding recruiting

I saw this artucle and it made me think of some things i would change about football recruiting:

Recruiting rules changes

I would make it harder for schools to make endless contacts to an athlete, not easier.

I would not allow contact before the Junior year of HS.

I would not allow offers until after the Senior season of HS football.

I would move signing day to April 1 or May 1 of Senior year.

I would ban recruiting services from sponsoring athletes and being rewarded for delivering an athlete to a program.

I would define and enforce stiff penalties for breaking the recruiting rules. The penalties must be severe to stop the rule breaking. Make the coaches and institutions pay a heavy price NOT the athletes.

Any other ideas out there?

Now, can we ban fans obsessing over recruit rankings and class rankings?

That's agreeable if I can still endlessly contemplate scholarship totals and how we will slip under the wire.
