A case for Pitt

I am as amazed by Pitt's 11-1 record in the Big East as I am by our 'Horns being undefeated through 10 Big 12 games.

This evening, the Panthers edged a solid Villanova team on the road without their leading scorer. It was Villanova's first loss at home in something like 48 games.

The Panthers don't make it look easy, but they still find a way to be on top when the clock hits zero.

Considering the fact that we are 0-2 against the Big East, I see your point. I will be shocked if Pitt isn't in Houston this year.

The one thing we want to avoid is a strong Big East two seed. I would rather have Duke as a two or be the two in Duke's region then one of the Big East teams. Not saying Texas cant win those games because the Horns were two made shots away from beating two of the top Big East teams but they definitely play a style and pace that takes advantage of our weaknesses.

And a missed wild *** bad shot by a freshman that could have beaten Pitt. Said freshman does not take that bad shot today...or in march

I only watched a couple of minutes of the game last night but didn't Villanova also have one of their top players out?

Do the Irish worry me, yes they do. Not as much as Pitt or Villanova but the Big East teams are going to come in battle hardened and if you ask me what my preference is, it is to avoid them.

Again I am not saying Texas cant beat them, As noted above we are two made shots from beating Pitt and Uconn, but the path of least resistance is through every other conference but the Big East.

Pitt also has good size and that seemed to frustrate us at times yesterday against baylor as well. they are also disciplined and physical. they will be a beast come tourney time.
