I'll bet it felt good for these idiots to sit around and sing Kumbaya while they adopted the same currency. Now I think reality is setting in, and they're realizing that not all European countries and peoples are the same. They don't have the same fiscal priorities, discipline, or work ethic. Not surprising since it wasn't that long ago that these countries were at war and trying to kill each other.
Nevertheless, when they decided to adopt a common currency, the more responsible and hard working countries essentially decided to tie their economies to the those who are less responsible, corrupt, and lazy. Not very smart. There's a reason why we haven't offered to share a currency with Mexico.
Some thought the Brits were isolationist killjoys for keeping the Pound Sterling. Now they're looking pretty smart. Greece, Portugal, and Italy are Germany's problem rather than Britain's.
