83 wins after all?

I predicted 83 wins for the Rangers, and the way it's looking now, I might be a lot closer than I thought I would be a couple of weeks ago.

If the offense stays dead like this, they might just win exactly 83 games, and go 3-14 down the stretch.

the way the are playing and getting shut out the last few games, they ain't gonna get to 83

85 wins, you're looking great! I would still like to see the Rangers win 2 or three more, would be great to have more wins than the Central Division winner.

Especially since the Rangers SHOULD be in the Central. No other team in baseball has to travel across TWO time zones for their intra-division games.

'cat you exceeded your prediction... let's hope this season is the start of something really good next season.

woohoo! Fourth best record in the American League!! With those injuries?? I'll admit I wasn't much of a fan until this year when I realized how young the team would be. Starting pitching, come back, and add Feliz, get younger. relief pitching come back, except for maybe the old lefty.

Need Davis to duplicate his last month or so when he came back from AAA, he hit around .300. Stay a little healthier, and .....

Maybe, just maybe change hitting coaches to someone who coaches hitting line drives, and you've got a chance to get better. Ten games better, that's all it takes. 97 wins instead of 87 gets you where you want to be.

I am feeling so bad and jealous today, seeing what the Twins just did to make the playoffs. Going 17-4 in the last 21. The Rangers did not need that much to make the playoff, had they not so badly fizzled out at the season's end..

From the time when our Rangers bats completely died at Seattle and the team basically quit, we went 7-14 .. Had we gone 15-6, we would be in a playoff with Boston .. Even 14-7 with a 5-2 record against Angels (instead of 2-5) would have seen us in a playoff - against Angels.

Oh well .. Next year. At least we had some good fun this year...

here's something that might drive you crazy. Remember that one game in Minnesota, when the Rangers were mounting a comeback, but they had two outs, two runners on, and Chris Davis was working the count? I was sure a walk or a hit was coming because Chris was doing a great job. The umpire called that ball a 3rd strike, and it wasn't even close.

If the ump calls it correctly, it's a ball, even if was ball 3, which I kind of doubt, I think it was ball four, anyway, the bases are loaded or Davis gets a hit, the Rangers win, and the Twins are sitting home right now, and the Tigers are getting beat by the Yankees instead.

'cat - I remember exactly the moment you described for Davis and your right - a ball call and the Rangers may have won the game... oh well.
