The approximate ranking levels of the 8 offers on Wednesday (these will change throughout the year):

5 star top-10 CB, Saivion Smith (Brandenton, Fla./IMG)
4 star top-100 CB, Khalil Ladler (Brandenton, Fla./IMG)
4 star top-125 DE, McTelvin Agim (Hope, Ark./Hope)
4 star top-200 QB, Seth Green (Saint Paul, Minn./East Ridge) — Committed to Oregon
4 star top-250 QB, Zach Smith (Grandview, Grandview HS) — Committed to Baylor
3 star top-500 QB, Bowman Sells (Allen, Lovejoy HS)
3 star top-500 RB, Brandon Stephens (Plano, Plano HS)
3 star top-400 RB, Trayveon Williams (Houston, C.E. King)

The idea is that some of the lower ones would commit a bit sooner but we will continue to recruit others at their position. If better ones join, the lower rated guys may decommit and go elsewhere, seeing the writing on the wall. Bascally cast the net far, wide and deep and be ready to continue to re-evaluate and continue to recruit. There are way too many good players out there for us to be wrapping up anybody and calling it quits this early. This is basically what the Alabamas, Ohio States and FSUs do. It is a lot more work throughout the year, and hectic work in the last 5 weeks to fit the pieces together properly without upsetting people.

I hope we can get a line on Smith from Grandview. I got a feeling he's going to be a good one.

Per HORNS247:

Before committing to Baylor, Smith told Horns247 that Texas and TCU, along with Baylor, were his top three schools. Smith also was invited and planned to attend the Charlie Strong’s Elite Quarterback Camp over the summer before making his commitment.

Smith has received an invitation to the junior day on Feb. 28, but as of Wednesday evening he does not plan to attend.

Smith is a four-star prospect and the No. 141-ranked prospect in the country according to 247Sports. Smith is also the No. 18-ranked prospect in Texas.
