I hate to say it but that thing sucked. I drank two of those suckers last night and BARELY had a buzz at all.

The food was good and the sunset was nice to watch, especially last night, but damn I hate paying for a crappy drink! My wife drank a large as well and no buzz to be detected for her either. Guess it's either give the bartender a ten spot up front and order at the bar, turn it inot a $12 margarita with a floater of additional Tequila, or just drink beer.

Had I drank the equivalent dollar amount of house frozen at Nuevo Leon I would have been whacked. Sucks because the place has a nice atmosphere. Guess I will just ahve to hammer a couple of Jack and Cokes before azrriving next time.

Anyone else find fault with the potency of Maudies Margs? Seems like on South Lamar they were a bit more potent.....

We have after-work get togethers there all the time. The only people that drink the ritas are the newcomers. All the veterans drink beer - it's the only thing they can't water down.

Also, most of the food is noticeably worse than the other locations. We stick to chips and salsa only, then go somewhere else for an actual meal.

I would have to second the fact that the drinks and food do not seem to be up to par with the S. Lamar or the Lake Austin locations. It seems like the loaction is the only draw.

I was talking to my wife last night and I was guessing that I probably would have got more of a buzz off of simply ordering beer.

The food was "OK" and I can get by with decent food, a nice sunset and WITH a good Margie.

I can't beleive their ritas are so.... un-Rita-like....

The food is pretty good at the one on Brodie. I was in there the other day and noticed the $8.50 rita and thought what the hell is in that to make it that much an was going to try it next time I went in there. Thanks to your post I won't lay a hond on it.

Sorry to say this guys, but the 360 location sucks, and I honestly think it is an imposter to the Lamar and Town Lake locations.

The food at Maudies on town lake is awesome and the Ritas taste great and are decently strong.

Stay off 360 for Maudies...

The problem at that location is they had a few upscale ladies drink too much, they proceeded to pull out on to 360 and got themselves killed. I believe (heresay) that the former bartender is in deep doodoo. That may have something to do with it. This info was from a friend of a friend.

My wife and I were laughing about this last night. One Nuevo Leon Frozen was the equivalent of $17 worth of Maudie's Jumbos...

We thought that perhaps one Nuevo was perhaps even a bit stronger than the $17 fill up

Last and only time I went to Iron Cactus, the little lady and I treated ourselves to $8 Mexican martinis. They were about 90% sweet and sour, served by a snot-nosed bartender with an attitude.

I'll take Cedar Door any day of the week over that ********.

Damn I just finished the last beer in the fridge. now I remember there's tequila and triple sec in the kitchen.

Nuevo Leon kicked my ******* ***.

I went there once, without eating, and drank 3 of their margaritas on the rocks at about 7pm before hitting sixth street. That was not a night to remember...fortunately I can't!!

Never.... EVER.... go to Nuevo Leon and then decide that 6th Street might be a good idea after more than one margarita. With one you might be OK but with two or more you are goin to either end up in a fight, in jail or like Torn ACL, with no memory of what happened last night and a new bothersome case of hemerroids...
