This story, in SportsbyBrooks, is basically about some strange goings-on at ESPN, where Mel Kiper's involvement in the 7-on-7 Tournament biz was admitted – no, denied – no, admitted - no, denied – okay, admitted (as of now).
Apparently the squeaky clean SEC has problems with 7-on-7, so it's possible that either there actually are problems or prices are going up too high or … whatever.
What caught my interest is that the second picture in that article shows a group of recruits – sorry, I mean “tournament participants”- having a bit of relaxation on a boat, and all or most of them are showing the familiar “guns up” of our Sand Agy brethren. I dunno, maybe someone else uses that hand-sign... but maybe it explains some of former SEC coach Tuberville's recent somewhat unexpected success at gathering higher-ranked players into the Tech fold?
Just askin'....
