$599 50' Panasonic plasma at Fry's?

In their Monday morning ad (on the back page of the sports section of the AAS) they have a 50" Panasonic 720p plasma for $1199, before $600 savings. Seems to me that means they are selling, on a closeout, the 50" Panny plasma for $599.

That's a helluva deal, unless they only have a handfull.

If it's a typo, which I believe it is, can a customer hold them to that price - provided there are any left in stock?

If that's the same ad, then it looks like there's either a typo in the print ad or you're misreading it.

Panasonic makes good plasmas though.

From what I remember from the only business law course I took, you can't hold them to a typo in an advertisement. You can give an offer, but they don't have to accept and in then no cosideration would be given, i.e., cash in exchange for the tv. They would simply tell you of the typo and that would be their offer.

Take it to sears and see if they will price match...

If the sears price match works, please let me know. I have this tv also and purchased it in November for a little less than $1200 at Sears with Price match. If they let it go for $599 somehow, I would def. buy another one. I love this tv.

Sears and most other stores that price match exclude sale merchandise that is a close out price to get it out of the store. That much of a discount they would probably call about the sale ad and verify the sale price.

It makes sense though...

Why would a store price match if you cant actually buy it for that price somewhere else??
