2L looking for a law clerk position

I'm a 2L at DePaul U in Chicago, but I went to undergrad at UT. I'm looking for a clerkship in central/south Texas. Any advice on where to look? This whole "being 1000 miles from where I want to practice" thing has made the process difficult.

What kind of practice? Some state agencies to law clerk programs. Might be a good way to have a job lined up while you take the bar and get a couple years of experience.

Looking at family law or probate. I have lined up an interview with a DA down in Corpus, and my stepdad has a practice that I could always join, but I'd rather not be in CC.
