My school has a regional reputation, which discouraged me from applying for summer work back home, but I want to live in Houston when I'm done after next year. I just applied for the internship with the DA, but I have no clue how that will go - emails (which is the only method they want) are easy to erase or overlook.
My questions are general - how hard is it to find a non-Big Tex job? How about with a DA's office, for instance Harris, Ft. Ben, Montgomery, without experience? Do you need a technical background for Oil and Gas (I've heard yes and no, only one time each)? Any non-traditional 2L or post-grad options that y'all know of that I might be overlooking?
Also, the TWC site doesn't seem to have any summer jobs for law students, are these generally filled through on-campus interviews at TX schools? If not, any advice there?
Thanks for any help.
