29 commits for AM?

The aggies now have 29 commits do they expect some not to qualify or have some greyshirts? Or do they really have that many ships to offer? I'm guessing Shermanatior really wants to make a bang his 1st recruiting class and get as many players in as possible this year, but will leave him with a handful of ships for next years class which will be as deep of a class that the state of Texas has had in a while. Not really a problem for us but just wondering.

They've been losing a lot of kids to the B/CS PD lately, so this is kind of an insurance policy. The Shermanator ain't stupid.

That large commit number also popped out at me today on the rivals list. By my calculations, either they all do not make it in, or some guys on the current returning roster are toast. Or both. They did not lose that many seniors this year, far less than we did.

The most that can sign ith any class is 28 (25 for that years class and you can count 3 early enrollees to last year's class if there is room).

So as of right now, we are over the limit. However:

(1) Most were expecting Lamar Harris to commit to OU when he visited them this past weekend. He's yet to do so.

(2) Rod Davis is still up in the air. It could be TAMU, could be FLorida, could be Texas.

(3) There are about 4 or 5 grade risks. Depending which guru you talk to there is a chance 2 or 3 won't make it in. There is one recruit most have already written off as JUCO bound but we'll see. I think at least 1 won't qualify.

I think we lose one of Davis/Harris and at least 1 won't qualify so I think we have room for one more.

sounds like the way Tech use to, still does, recruit...get a lot to commit and sort them out later...could cause a problem in the future

Bundy, are you guys expected to lose any underclassmen also? I was not sure how many would count toward last year. It does sound Tech-like, although, I think Tech's signing too many in 06 back fired on them last year.

We're losing a lot of seniors (guys from Frans 1st class he reshirted in the disasterous 77-0 season) as well as some JUCOs (Dodge/Tupe). Mix in Martellus declaring for the draft, Joiner/Babalola's trip to jail, and the usual number of guys who seem to fall by the wayside when a new coach takes over, we have the room.

I think this is a one year blip in terms of "over-signing", I wouldn't really call this "over-signing". See Fran's 2004 class for "over-signing".

Sherman knows better than to Gundy any recruit.

The Sherminator is a sophisticated Coach-Robot sent through time to change the future for many lucky recruits.
