Two ground breaking series (Lost and 24) ending one day apart...........simply amazing.

I was thinking about that too, NW. Consecutive nights of two-hour finales of long-running dramatic series.

I thought the clash between female titans in the first hour was terrific. Those two were well-cast and gave convincing performances. What other show/network has allowed two actresses to portray such powerful women and let them go at it like that for so long without it being campy? And I still wasn't sure what Taylor would do once she held the pen in her hand.

President Taylor has been an interesting study. She went from rock-solid in the last season and some of this one to compromised and ethically challenged in short order, and then back to partial redemption in the end. Quite a journey. I found the bad advice/judgment and sacrifice of principal all too believable in light of the current list of real world characters.

Back when they cast this actress, there is no doubt they had Hillary in mind. (Just like they had Nixon in mind with Logan). The actress somewhat resembles her in appearance, age and haircut, as well as that haggard and stressed facial expression. I suppose putting her in pantsuits would have gone too far. Tongues would have been wagging were Clinton actually in the WH now and the show kept this storyline.

Anyways great ending to a great show. Long live Jack Bauer.

Also really liked it. I actually think the perfect way to end it would have been how they ended the fourth season, with them faking Jack's death. Unfortunately, they already did that.

And pretty good acting there all around.
