I too thought Dana might not be dead and that Jack may not have the key piece he needs to expose the Russian plot. In the next episode, with extreme prejudice, Jack will kill the Russian assasin that shot Renee Walker.

Looked like he shot her the same way he shot Renee Walker to put her down last year. I didn't know what the second shot was for though. That torch in his hand for next weeks episode looks like fun for his Russian friend.
