With recent history, how many more offers will UT extend, and to whom will those offers be extended to?
Who is invited for the second junior day?

Reorganizing my thoughts along those lines…..

Already with 13 verbals you also quickly start to wonder who is going to get caught up in a numbers game, and just how long those outstanding offers are good. Who are the players for whom a spot will always be open, regardless of the numbers, and who better jump on the bandwagon soon or be left behind?……17 seniors…..figure one injury opens a spot, one jr. jumps to the NFL, one leaves for more playing time…….that would put you at 20. Seems like something around 22 would be about the max unless there are some real surprises coming. The following is a list of players that I have either heard or read are somewhere on the Texas list of players of interest. I have very little idea who will be at the second junior day so there could obviously be others to add to this list. An * indicates that I have heard or read some rumor somewhere that an offer has already been made……

*Aaron Green RB
Herschel Sims RB
Bradley Marquez RB

I think they only way to know who to give conditional offers, who you can wait to offer, and who it is worth waiting for would be based on developing personal relationships with the players and the their families. This is something Mack and staff have seemed to do very well in the past. After looking at these names, and the numbers, I’m glad it is not my job. It makes my head hurt just to think about those decisions.

I would think one RB, if it is Brown, Green, or Sims, would be a lock. Same for at least two more OL, and one CB. That would be 17 with probably 0 to 5 more to come. My wish list would probably be Brown, Westerman, Flowers, Greenlea, Diggs, Shannon, Vaughters, Rasco and Reed…….But, it would be difficult to complain about any one on that list.

I think three, and possibly four who have already been offered will ultimately wind up Horns. I have my ideas which three or four it will be, but I'd love to hear from some others with a lot better inside info than I have.

Does anybody have a list of who will be in town this weekend?

I suspect there may be a major difference between those who Mack actually offered a scholarship and the boys on the list above that may think/say they were offered. I doubt Mack changed his recruiting system Jan 13, 2010.

I like seeing 2 OL on that list. We need to take 5 this year. 2 DEs seems a bit unnecessary. I would rather see 2 more DBs. DB is another positin of need this year. We should take 4.

I know what y oui mean hoopshookem. The player in this link was offered but it was revoked when it was found out that he was visiting other campuses in violation of the offer agreements. I think he did that on the advice of his uncle. Yet the link shows it as an offer even today even though it was revoked. In Sinton when an offer is revoked you know longer have an offer and I am sure it is the same in most other places. Even though it was revoked he still did that silly hat trick with one of our caps in front of him. I think the thing is that the coaches can't publicly say anything about the recruiting process or any of the recruits until National Signing Day. So the information may just come from the recruits themselves. Too bad the school can't at least list the offers so it could be confirmed for sure. Oh well.

That list came from Suchomel. I figured it was valid and he would know what was happening at the junior day. Hey Bill, I had many a chicken fried steak at Freddies back when I was in high school in Refugio. Good stuff.

I agree Friday that this list is valid because it has been confirmed by others besides Sucomel but sometimes things changed as in the one I posted about years ago so you sometimes have things that have happened that we don't know about. Hopefully we will get some of them verbaled soon.
Freddie's is still open and the chicken fried steaks and other food is still good even though they are under new managment but they have kept the same format and are doing a good job. I have ate at Moya's a few times in Refugio and that is great Mexican food at reasonable prices. I am sure you have ate there many times.
