The kids that went with the football team were signees and early enrollees.
I would think if you are already enrolled in school that you would be allowed to participate in team activities regardless of sport.

What cnb said sounds right. The only one that confused me was Gisella Maul from Cedar Park. What was odd was:

1. She got injured in 2022 as a junior(??)
2. She reclassified as a senior and signed with Texas Nov 2022
3. She was in uniform (?) December 2022 and for sure January 2023
4. Didn't play at all in Spring 2023, but was on the bench for all of Spring WBB (obviously rehabbing from ACL surgery)
5. First played in the 2023-2024 season

My assumption was she got hurt. Texas said, sign with us early and we'll pay for the ACL surgery and you can take a year and a half to rehab on Texas' dime.

It was odd as I was thinking (Spring 2022), "Is she going to class? How can you have a non-student sitting on the bench?"

But I could be wrong about her not starting school in Spring 2022.
