Can you imagine what would happen in collieville if Texas won the national title by beating both Bama and Clemson? I think they would actually invent 2 new stages in the 7 stages of grief.

1. Shock and disbelief
2. Denial
3. Guilt
4. Anger and Bargaining
5. Depression, loneliness, and Reflection
6. Reconstruction and work through
7. Blame the BOMC
8. Mass Cult Suicide

#9. Bring up some distant past fact like when we lost to Kansas or something similar, or we didn’t belong in the playoffs, or some other meaningless trivial BS.

Come on , people. Do none of you understand the Cesspool on the Brazos learnin'?

Very simply, Texas paid their players better than Jimbo. It's all Aggie knows, so that'll be their story.

Or we got lucky by only having to play them once because they have to play them every year...oh the grueling schedule they have. If they played in the Big XII they could have beaten Bama too because they would have been fresh.

I agree. Look at their schedule for this year (just my take on it)

Easy Street
UTSA
Lamar
Arkansas
S. Carolina
Texas State

Better Competition
Ole Miss
Mississippi State
Auburn

Best Competition
Bama
LSU
Clemson
Georgia

They should have 8-9 wins. I don't see them beating any of the four best they play. I would laugh if they blow a game to Arky or SC, or better to TSU or UTSA.

My crystal ball sees lowly aggy go 7-5 best case and earn a trip to the Poulon Weedeater Bowl.

Surprised by two things on the ou game. Surprised the time is already published, and surprised no one commented.

I recall when ABC/ESPN used to carry this game that 11 am meant it was a national broadcast. Interesting it would already be shown as an 11 am kick.

In the past ABC/ESPN alternated w FOX on the TXOU game. This year is FOX and they already know which games they have available.

I understand that part, but does Fox have a time slot with regional games like ABC/ESPN?

If nothing else, I was surprised at the lack of meltdown over the 11 am kick haha.

my guess is that FOX is marking the early start in light of the other match ups on that day.
SEC with CBS getting first choice
Alabama @ TAMU
FL @ LSU
SC @ GA

ACC
FSU @ Clem

NBC 6:30
USC @ ND

The ou game time was announced prior to this and did gain many moans & groans from our mature posters.... I detest 11 am kicks for many reasons, especially in this game but, oh well.

The only good news with the early kick and a win, you get on to the watering hole / restaurant for dinner earlier than the crowd on Sat. night.

Selfishly for me living up in the tundra, the earlier a game is, the better, since it is hard for me to get down there to enjoy the tailgating.

I wish they would play Rice at Rice Stadium. For some reason* I just prefer that venue for this game over NRG.

*being an old fogey
I have 1 great memory of Rice stadium.
Friend's dad took us there as young pups to watch Eric Dickerson video game them that day.
Dont know what the stat line was....but it was LARGE.

I was at Rice Stadium for the historic debacle of 1994. (On the plus side, my boss gave me tickets so at least I didn't have to pay $$ to observe the great debacle. And the LHB was funnier than the MOB that night)

A more favorite memory was attending the 1997 UT-Rice game, when Ricky Williams ran for 253 yards and 5 TDs.

Hanging out with BEVO XIII before the game.

Rice Stadium is pretty awesome. Trivia: Did ya'll know a Super Bowl was played there. I think it was SB II. Late 60's. Not sure of the year.

Garland Owls v. Galena Park state championship game Dec. 1964. Despite what Saber is going to reply the phantom GP TD was just that.

Monsters of Rock at Rice Stadium in '88 was better I guarantee. I arrived at about 11am and stayed on the field the entire day. It was in June I think and hotter than hell on that astroturf. Back then they sprayed us with huge water hoses to keep us cooled down. By the time Van Halen went on around 8-9pm I was no more than 75' from the stage. Didn't really pay attention to the stadium but by the time the Scorpions went on before Van Halen the stadium was full and I couldn't move swaying around with the masses. Metallica was the second band to play just before Kingdom Come and they were just getting big not really mainstream yet. Gee, which one of those ended up bigger? I dont even remember the first band, but five in all.

That was the first concert I ever attended and nothing since has measured up and its not even close. If there were cell phones with cameras back then I would have a hell of a lot of cool stuff to show. As it is it's all in my head.
