Watched him play last night for FM Marcus and was impressed with him, though not his team. Mansfield wanted to make it clear it wasn't afraid of him and the kicker aimed first three kicks right at Smith, who was at about the 30, lined up to block. Smith's not shifty or fast enough to be a good return man, but he's tough and has good moves.
Marcus Quarterbacking was bad and Smith fought for, but didn't get 2 potential TD passes thrown up for grabs where he and a couple of Mansfield DBs camped under it, counted to 20 and waited for the ball to come down. The kid looks to have a lot of skills, a good attitude and a passion for downfield blocking. The Marcus offense doesn't have a true tight end. Smith is listed in the program as both a "back" and an "inside receiver."
