Nice article on the two high school Texas stars who have many schools after them and are considering Texas among others including A&M and UConn.

I hope that Texas is still on their radar. They would be great for us, but I think we'd be great for in-state players too. What a great opportunity to play in front of family and friends, and to play with friends from the AAU circuit. With all of our new recruits and commits, these two would be able to continue some great success in Texas. And I do expect lots of success with this coaching staff. Since A&M joined the SEC, more of their games are going to require significant travel for family members. Much better to join us in Austin!

Recee’ leads a balanced Johnson squad (four players in double figures) with 14.6 ppg through their first nine games. Johnson is 8-1.

Through 11/17/12, Brianna has led Manvel to a 6-2 record. She paces four teammates in double figure scoring with 19.3 ppg.

Maxpreps stats for Manvel HS. Brianna is the team leader in ppg, rebs, fts, steals, and is second in assists. Jordan is also doing well.

Per @ShesBallin, Caldwell is announcing on Friday. She will choose between A&M, Cal, UConn, Duke, and UCLA. My money is on UConn.

Well, we will see Friday. For sure, it's not a matter of having another PG in camp as Jefferson is only a year ahead of her at UConn. I don't know about the other schools and how they are set at PG.

We will get a look at UCLA next week.

A&M has more guards than they know what to do with, so I would be surprised if that's her choice.

I know our program has its own issues, but I do find it kind of funny that A&M (less than 2 years removed from its national championsip) will miss out on the state's top two 2014 players; and, of course, McCarty is committed to us, and Mackenzie Calvert is committed to Baylor, so that accounts for the state's top 4 kids for 2014.

shocker for BU and UConn. Not surprising given that her family moved from there. I'm glad we got Brooke. With AlyssaDry & Lashann Higgs coming in 2015 as well, we will be well stocked at PG/SG.

Turner has made visits to the UT games occasionally even after that came out. UT coaches are still working hard on her. Another update, word is that UConn has cooled on recruiting her and Jordin Canada.
