2013 Kendal Yancy-Harris commits to Texas

Much needed help with the recent defection of McClellan and Kabongo's probable departure.

Originally committed to USC but pulled the plug when Kevin O'Neil was fired.

Reportedly has a good all around game and can play the point, as evidenced by his 8+ assists per game.

Welcome!

Nice pick-up.

As far as McClellan, he probably needs to go. Barnes has had a trigger finger with him, but he does seem to sleep-walk thru the game and doesn't play D or rebound. I wish him luck - he's nails on the charity stripe and those guys are nice to have around when you're trying to ice the game.

It's good to pick up a player but losing Sheldon is not good on any level. He has time to mature. But now he's leaving. I wonder if Kansas would benefit from a guy like Sheldon. They seem to have older players who suddenly blossom as Juniors or Seniors. We needed a guy like Sheldon to stick around and grow up.

I just hope our young comatose post players are revived at some point next season. Unless a DNR was included with their LOI.

"Well guard play is wide open now. lol"

The funny/sad/ironic thing is that it isn't. It'll be Felix/Holland/Lewis as the main guys.

Harris looks like he can add a little athleticism to the position, although most of the video clips of him seem to be showboating no-look passes and slam dunks. He's not going to get much of an opportunity for those in Barnes' offense. Assuming Barnes is back.

Have there been any real, substantial indications that Barnes may not be back? Or is it all just wishful thinking?

I wasn't implying that he's leaving. I'd say it's 99 percent sure he's back next season. Unless something is released from the Bev Kearney/Dodds stuff...
