Pretty good teams, with very few coupcakes. Should be an interesting OOC schedule, especially with Stanford, A&M and Tennessee. Those three will give us a very good idea of where the team is heading into conference play.
Syracuse will also be a good test. They had a couple of highly ranked freshmen playing this past season. Plus, they have the Day twins (originally committed to UNC, but decommitted and chose Syracuse), coming in as freshmen this next season.

Erin Peoples is coming a season which saw her named to the All WAC frosh team. TSU loses their top scorer but return the next seven top scorers. They signed two frosh and a JC player to bring their roster up to ten.
Stanford went 33-3 last season and lost in the Sweet Sixteen. They won the PAC 12 for the 13th straight time and the PAC 12 tournament for the seventh straight time. They return 12 veterans, including Chiney Ogwumike & Toni Kokenis. Six of their top seven scorers return as they only lost # 2 Joslyn Tinkle.
Syracuse ended up 20-13 with an 24-8 overall record, the winning percentage of 75% was the best since the school became NCAA Division I program. Finished the season ranked 22 in the AP & ESPN polls. freshmen guards Brittney Sykes and Brianna Butler were named to the All-Freshman Team. The Orange return three freshmen starters and lose their three top scorers including inside presence C Kayla Alexander, an All Big East First team selection.
A&M (25-10) returns eight players (I think), They ended up ranked 9th in the AP and 14th in the ESPN polls. They lost four of their top five scorers, including three startters.
Memphis women's basketball team (17-15) lost in the first round of the post season WNIT. They return scorers #2 through #9. They return two starters and nine others that have started at least three games.
Arkansa-Little Rock Trojans (24-9) ended their 2012-13 season with a first round loss in the WNIT. They won the West Division of the Sun Belt and fell in the conference tournament finals. That was their seventh 20 win season and sixth West Division title. UALR returns four of their top five scorers, including leading scorer Taylor Gault. Three starters return along with three others that started at least 15 games, including Gault with 19 starts. The Trojans feature twin sisters Jakeisa (6-3) & Jaliria Wells(6-2) at F, although Jaliria did not play last season.
Tennessee (27-8) lost in the NCAA Elite Eight to eventual national runner up Louisville. They bring back five of their top six scorers, including leading scorer Meighan Simmons, an AP All American. Three starters return, including two others that started at least 16 games.
Sam Houston State Bearkats , (18-15), advancing after their first Southland Conference regular season championship, finished off the 2012-13 season with a first round loss in the WNIT. Their top three scorers were seniors and are the three starters not returning. Jasmine Johnson is the leading returner scorer and the fourth starter. Two others were the primary option at the fifth starting spot.
The Northwestern State Lady Demons lose their top scorer but return #s 2, 3 & 4. Four of five starters return off a squad that finished 12-17. Janelle Perez, 5-2 Freshman PG, was named the Southland Conference’ Freshman of the Year and was selected to the all league third team by coaches and SIDs.
The Idaho Vandals went 14-15 in the regular season but won the Western Athletic Conference contender tournament to win a slot in the NCAAs vs UConn. Three players won all conference honors: Alyssa Charlston was a first team selection, Stacey Barr was named to the third team and Christina Salvatore made the all freshman team. Three starters return along with Barr who started 22 of 33 games. A fifth player started 23 games.
