2012 OU outlook

Listened to a bit of AM radio today and heard Stoops and Jones doing interviews on 2 different shows. They seem to be really getting out there in the spotlight already and the media seems to think OU is a championship contender.

Got me wondering what others thoughts are on OU this year? Here are a few of mine.

- Jones returns at QB for his 4th year as starting QB. This is the biggest plus for the Sooner this year in terms of the experience and leadership he brings.

- RB core returns intact. Whaley, Finch, Clay, Williams were top 4 rushers for OU last year and will all return in 2012. None of them are explosive IMO and it will be RB by committe. OU drastically increased their YPC from 2010 to 2011 (3.3 to 4.5). Having a solid running game that can move the chains and protect the ball is key for OU.

- WR unit will be young. OU loses Broyles to graduation. Reynolds is apparently no longer on the team due to violation of team rules. OU will bring back their #2 option last year in Stills. This would be a big negative for many teams, but OU should be able to overcome this due to their experience at the QB position. OU has some talented freshman coming in (Metoyer and Gardner being the early leaders for starting spots) and a top JUCO WR (Bester) as well.

- OU's defense will bring back most from 2011. There will be many juniors/seniors on their defense in 2012 vs. the soph/juniors that Texas will have.

Why move it? Everybody knows that Obama is a Longhorn.

Seriously, mark these words: this is the year that OU implodes. They have a whole slew of internal things happening that are going to surface. Landry Jones made a big mistake coming back.

They have absolutely no tight end, their defense will not be good etc..

I will have more thoughts in a future post but have to go eat dinner now.

**** ou. That’s the outlook.

A bunch of crooked coaches, alumni, and university officials paying players under the table with hookers, strippers, fancy cars, and booze and now protecting child molesters. What a great thing college football has become.

(Full disclosure - I did fake having some use for college football when I was "booty blind" enough to date a crazy Aggie. Other than that, I've pretty much always thought it was worthless. Even then I knew, but the things we'll say to get chicks . . .)

This site is 90% about college football, man I am confused this morning, I went to Chick Fi La and for some reason I am confused this morning.....
