Looks like we're 3/4 of the way there with 17 on board, and with 9 outstanding offers, it's clear that numbers are very tight at this point. here's the breakdown.
QB
Committed: Ash
Possibilities: Brewer as a greyshirt, and nothing else.
RB
Committed: None
Possibilities, Brown and Green have offers. Could reopen the Williams and Sims recruiting if needed potentially, though it would be an uphill battle.
FB
Committed: Bergeron
Possibilities: None. We are done.
WR
Committed: Shipley, Onyegbule
Possibilities: Hakeem Flowers, if he shows that he really has interest in us and it's trying to get 80 offers for posterity sake. Ladarius Brown if his grade are in order. Marquis Jackson if the coaches decide that they'd rather have him at WR than DB.
TE
Committed: McFarland
Possibiltiies: Austin Seferian-Jenkins I suppose, if he were to show a lot more interest in a hurry. So basically none.
OL
Committed: Doyle, Cochran, Hutchins, Flowers, Greenlea.
Possibilities: Hegarty is a real possibility here, as is Westerman. The question is whether the staff would really consider 7 OL. Sounds crazy, but if others start falling off the radar, it could be possible. The number tightness again raises the question of why offer all 3 of Doyle, Cochran, and Hutchins on the 1st Jr. Day. Was it just to build RS depth? Could Doyle with his leg injury be a greyshirt switch ala Gooch a few years back? You can not seriously say no to a top 10 prospect (in the country) like Westerman because of numbers could you?
DE
Committed: Possibly Kendall Thompson, depending on where you put him.
Possibilities: Reed and Rasco have offers, though I think Mack is conceding Rasco to LSU. We'll see. I'm pretty sure he feels he has at least one of these guys in the bag, otherwise why would he not offer Hughes?
DT
Committed: Jackson
Possibilities: Anderson and Russell have offers, though it could be the 1st come 1st serve, ala the Torrea Peterson offer that seemed like it was out there last year, but really wasn't by the end. Reed could be a DT as well.
LB
Committed: Moss, Edmunds, possibly Thompson if he stays at this position.
Possibilities: Vaughters seems to be Muschamp's pet project, and will get a legit look. Wallace's story seems headed towards the Corey Nelson route, and I think he'll be OU's. I suspect we're done.
CB
Committed: Scott
Possibilities: Josh Turner and Marquis Jackson look to be the guys. Again, the staff know something we don't, letting Griffin go to TCU, and now Diggs (who is a freaking stud) go without an offer. Hopefully Turner comes ala Cobbs, and Diggs somehow still ends up with us. I'd love to have Jackson as a WR.
S
Committed: Evans, Thompson.
Possibilities: Avery Walls seems to be the only one, and doesn't even have an offer.. yet. I don't like our chances.
My guesses as of 2/17:
We get Brown, but not Green. Hegarty, but not Westerman. One of Anderson or Russell, Reed, and then one of Turner or Jackson. that's 22 commits, which will be close to the final number. Diggs may still be a horn in the end as well, which would make 23. Of course, there will always be a couple of guys that pop up on the radar later because it is still only February (Mack is ridiculous).
