2011/2012 Recruits

Anyone know of potentials? Seems kind of slow on this front and wondered if anyone had any news. Seems like Cameron Ridley is pretty high on us from what I've heard...

NBA lockout may affect whether Tristan stays or leaves. I've seen Cam Ridley, Shaq Cleare, Rasheed Sulaimon, and a few of the 2013 kids play so far this season and I would be excited to land any of them.

Cam is without a doubt an NBA center in the future. He is REALLY long. His footwork has improved and he has become more aggressive. He has become a must have in my opinion.

Shaq is still really good also. Not as much upside but he is very solid on the block.

Rasheed is VERY good. Smooth and under control. Very good offensive player. Not super athletic, but he finds ways to score and contribute. He's also pretty long.

DeAndre Daniels is supposedly visiting this coming weekend. After de-commiting from UT, he could have written us off. Apparently hasn't happened and we still have a shot. Talk is he's looking to enroll in January but not play until next season...although that's just others talking, not DeAndre.

Does anyone have an update on DeAndre Daniels? I heard he was suppose to announce sometime this week.

Also, does UT still have a shot at Rasheed Sulaimon since Duke and UNC just offered him a scholarship?

No announcement yet. Kansas, Kentucky and Texas are in the finals.

Though I listed it last, I think a "big" commitment for next year tops my "Christmas Wish List" for this team.

I think the Duke offer just took us, and everyone else, out of the running for Rasheed. Heard too many things saying that he really wanted them to offer.

Deandre would be awesome, but I don't think that happens either.

LJ Rose sounds like a UNC lean at this point as well.

But, on the good side I still think Cameron Ridley will be a longhorn, and maybe even Shaq Cleare.

Looks like Daniels will be deciding tomorrow and it doesn't look good for UT. I hope I'm wrong.

Here are stats from some players that UT is recruiting like Rasheed Sulaimon, Shaq Cleare and L.J. Rose. We would have a massive front line if we could get both Shaq Cleare and Ridley.

KU took on a friend of Daniels as a walk-on. Doubt they do that without some kind of nod. But Daniels went back to IMG for the spring, rather than commit.

It's all very strange.

Had a few alum friends at the Duke game last night. One of them talked to the director of operations after the game. Supposedly the loudest Cameron has been in over 15 years. Will be tough to grab Sulaimon if he buys into the atmosphere at Cameron. So different than games at Erwin....
