No west coast trip this year. Weak.

Thanks for posting, petscii. I do not recall ever playing A%M this early, especially since it is normally a pivotal series for the Big 12 title. Why the change?

Also, any idea who will be at the Astros Classic this year?
Thanks!

Respectfully puddle I must disagree. This is a cake walk schedule and the Horns should easily get 45-50 wins without exerting much energy. Only significant non-con challenges on the road are in Houston against Rice ( 1 at Minute Maid and one at Reckling). At home, only Rice looms as a top 25 challenger unless Stanford got alot better. In the Big 12, Baylor might provide the best competition this year as aggie, okie light and zero u and kstate have lots of holes to fill.

Tecolote - Don't forget the words of Augie "College baseball is made great by its imperfections"

Ws dont come easy. Remember we were swept by Kansas on the road and 0-2-1 vs Kansas State at home in '09. There is alot of parity in Big 12 baseball and college baseball in general.

true enough. My point was simply that on paper this is one of the weakest slates I can remember in a long time. In fact, I thought Mack might have put the schedule together. I am a little concerned about the fact that we don't really get much of a test on the road early in the season. In fact we leave the state only three times for conference series and zero times before April. I guess it doesn't matter as those three are not going to be that great this year anyway.

Yes, I am disappointed that the Astros Classic is only Big 12 teams and TCU, Houston, Rice. Last year Irvine was there and Baylor's win against them helped get them off the bubble for post season. It would be nice to have a West Coast and a SEC team at the Astros Classic.

Regarding Houston College Classic: TCU's published schedule shows the Frogs playing Tech, Mizzou, and Rice at the Classic. And I'm hearing a rumor that Mizzou will play Texas on Sunday.

None of that makes much sense based on the configuration of previous Classics, where no Big 12 teams plays another one.

Anyone heard any more about this?

Actually I just got very reliable confirmation that MU and UT will play in the Sunday game that weekend. Presumably listed as a non-conference matchup for the purposes of the Big 12 standings
