The first junior day's always kind of a crap shoot Bundy...you expect to get some verbals, but you're just not sure who loves you and how much. Where have you been lately, and your thoughts on A&M's recruit class from Wednesday?
A&M tried to start the 2010 recruiting in January with 2 big junior day type recruiting weekends; with over 30+ 2010 offers out, A&M struck completely out with 0 commits from the two weekends as of today?
Our 2009 class was almost all just leftovers from UT, ou lsu, etc, with some scout team transfers, walkons, maybe a few dance team members all to inflate the quantity. We ended up ranked #22 based on just leftover quantity, tied with 3 other teams ranked #24 to #27 based on quality, and really sucked in number of 4*/5* difference makers tied with 7 other teams ranked #30 to #37.
TU could put any of their 11 on the field and beat A&M's 11 almost all leftovers, walkons, scout team transfers and dance team members, 99 times out of 100 every year thru 2014 now!
This is getting lengthy so I won't tell you how I really feel!
Recruiting rankings only tell part of the story. There are lots of games every Fall that prove that. Remember how well Alabama's 5*/4* recruits did against Utah's 3*/2* recruits?
The Link
"The junior day is the first of two for Texas, which will host its second crop of recruits later this month. Last year, Texas had seven commitments after its first junior day."
Do I understand this right...aggy has had two junior days and gotten no commitments, and we have our first tomorrow and have already picked up three on the eve???
A&M has had two recent junior days, has over30+ offers out and got zip from these junior days.
A&M did commit a quarterback for 2010 a couple of months ago, Showers. He is the fourth rated quarterback in the state of Texas. Wood, Lee, and Arndt are ranked ahead of Showers and are all are uncommitted.
I expect us to sign mostly leftovers again after UT, ou, lsu and the rest of the Big 12 get theirs?
miller, you aren't gonna like this, but...we haven't even officially started our first Junior Day, and we have three huge verbals. Oh well, I guess that'll give the Shermanator and his staff more time to sort thru what's left after we get finished at the trough. (...and when okie, Tech, Baylor, LSU, etc. get finished picking...)
