2010 Looking at Texas

Who are the 15-20 players from 2010 looking at UT and vice-versa? Mack usually makes pretty quick work once the 09 class signs.

ESPN has their 2010 rankings up, and the #4 RB is from Martin Luther King HS in Lithonia, GA.

His name - Mack Brown.

I haven't seen him play, but I'm rooting for DJ Jones, so we can have 3 DJ's in on offense at once.

If we get another D.J. we are going to have to get some nicknames like we did for "Lam" Jones, "Ham" Jones, and "Jam" Jones in the late 70's.

DJ, a junior, has been named to the All State 4A first team.

I guess they could call them D1, D2, and D3.

Any reason DJ Jones barely is in the top 100 for TX in 2010. His #'s seem to speak to a higher ranking than that.

Off the list, who is TEXAS interested in? Which players have the greatest chances of ending up on the 40 acres?

There is some early OOS interest. Texas is looking at Austin Hinder QB from Colorado and LB Barry James from Alabama. WR Steve McNair Jr. from Mississippi is also showing interest in Texas

Updated LSR 100 for 2010

Looks like DJ finally made the jump from 100 to 9.

I'm concerned that the LSR group hasn't seen enough players yet to come out with this list. 1/3rd of the top 50 come from just 7 schools (Skyline, Desoto, Cedar Hill, Cedar Park, Dunbar, North Shore, Elkins).

Depth by position in the Top 50 includes:
9 OL, 8 WR, 6 QB, 6 LB, 6 DB, 5 RB
Looks like a shortage in TE and DL.

UT hopefully can pick up a mix of WRs, some OL-guards, maybe 2 RBs, a group of outside LBs, and cherry pick the Dline and DB group. Throw in 1 QB and project some of the bigger receivers as TEs.

How many ships would we have for 2010?

Depending on how we close out the 09 class we may need continued help along the front 7 next year. Otherwise most positions are probably in reload mode.
