2010 commit

PF. Pretty much a 5 star lock. Ranked anywhere beween 4-12 nationally depending on which list you look at. Was being recruited by UNC, Duke, Florida, UCONN, Kansas, Georgetown and Memphis just to name a few schools. Other than that, no big deal

Tristan Thompson 6'9" and 215 and looks skinny.
Combo forward with a nice skill package. I have seen him play twice in person.
Will rebound out of his area, looong wing span, excellent bounce on his second jump for a rebound, good defensive foot work, will work inside the lane and explode off the wing.

Needs to work on his weight /strength by adding 20-25 pounds then you would have a monster in the paint. I think he will settle into the SF slot and have the skills to be excellent.

Good handle could use his left hand more , nice crossover, good form on his jumpshot to the ARC. Good court awareness, passes well when double teamed in the paint.
Nice kid, polite and serious from what I saw, not very vocal but on a team with some excellent NBA type players ,he holds his own.
Give this kid another year to mature some more but he is going to get better, I understand that he spends a lot of time in the gym getting his shot down.
I was not aware that Texas had him on their radar, Tristan is a good fit for us.

His energy level was high when I saw him and he was coming off the bench for 15-18 minutes per game, I remember his defense stood out more then anything else , will fit Barnes to a T. I was hoping for Jeremy Tyler (sp) out of LA for 2010 but tristan will do just as well.

For those of us who don't follow basketball recruiting as closely as football, when is the earliest that he could actually sign? Is it the Fall of his senior year (i.e. 18 months from now)?

I wonder how long it will be before UA message boards are lighting up with comments about how UA has to work hard to persuade Thompson to decommit and sign with UA?
