don't ever remember an academic year when so many Texas teams collapsed.
2010 Football
2010-2011 Mens basketball in the post season
2011 Softball at the end of regular season and postseason
2011 Season's final and post season
After a decade and a half of dominance we were due for a down year or so. Its cyclical. that said baseball isnt over yet. While not a walk in the park it isnt a stretch to see Horns winning three straight today and tomorrow.
Oh and Cuernos take your tired aggy schtick back to the other sports board.
the volleyball team at least made the final four and the swim team finished second - they get a pass - every other program needs to be called on the carpet this summer and be told produce better or get out (Mack has earned his stay), but the other coaches need to have the heat turned up - deloss and the athletic dept. have spent so much time on the financial side(deservingly so) that i feel some of the coaches have become very complacent - for example this is the third year in a row for our baseball team to be weak at the plate, who's in charge of recruiting over there - might be time to shake things up - our coaches have everything they need to be successful - it's time to step up with all the financial backing they receive
Throw in the Cowboys supposedly primed to make a Superbowl run and then falling flat on their face too. This year has been a steady diet of **** pie disguised as chocolate chip cake.
In Cuernos' case actually being aggy makes you aggy. Most of us have a cold hard perception of the troubles at UT this past year plus, no one has their head in the sand but somehow Cuernos only ever pops up with some negative post or another whether valid or not and at some point that schtick just gets old.
You talk about collapse, but that only happens with programs with high expectations. The most troubling thing I see with UT athletics are the programs allowed to be average year after year: WBB, Soccer, Men's Track, women's programs in general. Mack gets my respect because he made some people feel the heat after a losing season. People lost their jobs. Plonsky needs to ask her daddy (Dodds) if its ok to be a strong Asst AD and put some heat under a few coaches. UT pays too much money for these results.
