Maybe under 7 min, but not at 11 minutesWe’ll when you say it like that …
However each call was the right one. Going for 2 puts you up 14. Both 12 and 13 points ahead gets you beat via two touchdowns.
And 4th and 1, with a great running back - it’s the correct call to go for it. Get it and the game is over. Kick a FG and you’re only up by 15 so two touchdowns and a two point conversion ties it.
I am glad though for the field goals kicked during the earlier parts of the game. The focus on when to go for 2 should only apply in the 4th quarter, when the game is down to a limited number of possessions.
Because Bijan's stat line would have been something like 8 carries for 85 yards.Herman would've lost that game.

You are ignoring a future FG attempt by Texas that was highly probable to occur later in the 4th quarter due to TCU’s inability to stop the run, which indeed would have happened from the one yard line if Sark didn’t decide to go for it on 4th down. This decision was not a loss of 1 point but a loss of 4 points. Why? Because the decision to go for 2 was made with 11 min left in the game. At 7 minutes, then okay, but not at 11 min.We can go back and forth on the 4th down. The math says you're better off going for it, but not drastically so, and there's a fair argument that when it's close teams that are winning should take the safer route and teams that are losing should take the riskier one.
But there should be no argument on the extra point. Going for 2 was the clear-cut right call and going for 1 would have been penny-wise and pound-foolish. Worrying more about losing to FG + FG + TD than to TD + TD at that point would have been silly. Not only is the former a more unlikely combination anyway, but we were close enough to the end where there was a high probability that TCU wouldn't even get 3 more possessions anyway.
With today’s offenses, the decision shouldn’t be made until 7:30 left on the clock in the 4th quarter. This game is perfect example of that. But there should be no argument on the extra point.
Are you going to be complaining about this, granted we won unlike 2008 Tech, like people complain about Gideon still? With today’s offenses, the decision shouldn’t be made until 7:30 left on the clock in the 4th quarter. This game is perfect example of that.
Good question. I need to see a counter example where my preference (in alignment with my argument) was selected and it was perceived by some as the wrong one (regardless if Horns win or lose, just like last Saturday). Are you going to be complaining about this, granted we won unlike 2008 Tech, like people complain about Gideon still?

You saw my Sarkasm indicators, right?Good question. I need to see a counter example where my preference (in alignment with my argument) was selected and it was perceived by some as the wrong one (regardless if Horns win or lose, just like last Saturday).
Of course but a valid question nonetheless. You saw my Sarkasm indicators, right?
