1st Class vs Coach

Just flew 1st class on a 777. (American Airlines)

It was much better than when I flew coach last year to BsAs.

That is all.

I'll take first class over steerage any day. I like saying steerage. Makes me sound more snobby.

good call on the "riff-raff" phrase P/C.

I fly alot for work, so 1st class upgrades are easy to come by and boy do I prefer not being squeezed in a seat with the riff-raff (or po folk !

My wife and i are going to Argentina April 29th - May 8th and due to planning way in advance, we got roundtrip tickets in 1st class on points (Delta - 90,000 miles each ticket)

Napolean or anyone else that is in Argentina frequently...if you have suggestions on restaurants, I'd gladly take them on a post or PM !!! We'll be in Mendoza for 4 days, Iguazu Falls for 2, and BA for 3 (including Sunday for the San Telmo Market)

I have been lucky to fly first twice over the london. It is awesome. The food is great and I feel like it was non stop stream. The seats are great!

I did fly business class once too on the 777- not bad either, but nothing like the seats in first class!

So, that was you, you assshole?

Life is good, I now qualify for 1st class domestic and international. Continental to the west coast ain't so bad in this case.

1st class to Singapore next week. That shoud take the edge off.

Then there's the limo that picks me up and brings me back from the airport. Its merely a safety thing, but the neighbors gawk and I'm a little emabarassed for them.

More time with the family? I think I'll take the wife with me.

Its great being an *******., in fact.

I fly between London and Dallas a lot, and what I appreciate most about first class on American is how the seat is perfect for both the westbound flight (when I need to plug in my laptop and work on the fold-out desk) and the eastbound flight (when I want to relax, enjoy the meal/wine, and get a good night's sleep for meetings the next day). The time I spend on the plane in first class is never wasted.

Ever since American started installing in next generation business class seats (now on 100% of its international 767s and about 50% of its 777s), the business class experience has been great in its own way. Of course, the seat doesn't give you the same amount of space you get in first class, but the seat, the double-sized interlocking tray tables, and the personal entertainment device (which can be detached from the seat in front of you) are so flexible that you can make the most of the smaller (yet still good-sized) space. The seat is designed by the same company that does BMW's seats, and you can literally contort it into dozens of positions (including flat for sleeping). It almost feels like the seat is tucking you in when you stretch it out. The food/wine in business class is almost the same as what you would get in first, too.

Everyone who has read my posts over the years knows that I'm partial on this subject, but you've also got to realize that I've flown a substandard product for many years on my airline so it feels really good when we get something like this right.

Have business class to China in Aug- trying to decide if it is worth it to use the miles to move up to first class- I wonder if I can find out if the they have the new seats on my plane.

I just watched that International Business Class commercial and I like that even though the chair goes flat, it is inclined. That's great for people dealing with Acid Reflux. But...

It's just not 1st class. And I think that the incline is too steep for a comfortable sleep. Sliding down your seat isn't something you have to deal with when you are sleeping.

PS- There's a good chance you might catch me on another Free International 1st Class flight this weekend.

You would think that Chicago to Shanghai would have the new seats- but I guess it is a roll of the dice. It would cost another 40,000 miles to move up to 1st class. Decisions, Decisions!!

I had the great pleasure of traveling in First on Jet Airways flight last week from Brussels. The US airlines have nothing on it, seriously.
